Hi.

Life in TP is.. normal.

New.

Ha, new friends and classmates.

Oh, and my class is an ALL-GIRLS class.

My classmates are all pretty loud and.. outgoing.

Hopefully we get along really well together.

But well, my class is doing real well till now.

They always say it's the honeymoon week.

I can feel the stress.

Today during the PrincPrac tutorial, my teacher asked each and eveyone of us to talk about why we chose ECS.

I remember what i said was " ... it was fate. I don't want to be a kindergarden teacher.

But i don't mind being one. But i just don't want to be."

Then we all laughed.

All these are from the bottom of my heart.

I'm aiming to be a child psychologist.

Went for TP's orientation camp last week.

My birthday was.. quite different to me this year.

Celebrated with a group of rockers.

During work in the restaurant.

It was a surprise.

They're really cool.

I've known them for only one month plus.

But, when they're singing that unique birthday song to me, i really felt that warmth of this big family.

I didn't know how to react to it, so i just smile and believe it or not, i almost teared.

Almost.

Then they asked me to do this stupid but i-will-never-forget thing.

Asking me to stand on the chair, wearing a birthday-cake-lens sunglasses, holding the birthday cake far away and asking me to blow the candle using the straw i was given.

Like cool or what right?

And i've got a Hard Rock Hotel tee as a birthday present from them.

Sweet or what. (:

I never really got scolded when i was there, till now, even when i did something wrong.

The managers there scolded the seniors when we do something wrong.

The seniors never blame us and still, joke with us.

Yes, to be honest, i can't wait for this week to end so that i won't have to wake up so early to work anymore.

But i'm certain i'll miss everything there, including that cubicle that i always used to change.

Birthday presents.

Awesome yellow earpieces that accompany me almost everywhere.

Nice yellow nail polish from O.P.I. (:

Even the most simplest yellow foolscap paper shows that you put in the effort, and wrapped it up, i appreciate it.

Surprise visit, pretty cupcakes and the testing-my-patience-knitting-kit make me feel so loved.

Giving me a cute dog 'doll' with a nice paper bag that you didn't remember to take off the pricetag, and yes i saw the price hahah, make me feel that i'm being remembered.

A failed 'surprise' due to my late late dinner. :D

The few hundreds birthday wishes i got on Facebook, looking at your prolife pictures, thanking each and everyone of you deep in my heart.

A simple birthday text even when you're reminded brightened up my day a lot.

And yes, i flew up the sky. HAHAHAH.

I apprecite everything.

"So did you study or are you as lazy as i think you are?"

She narrowed her eyes and glared at me intently, flaying me; her gaze tearing me apart inside.

Not wanting to disappoint her, i uttered, "I'm sorry, Ms Yee. I didn't study."

As i made my way back to my seat, i could not help but let the torrent of tears fall down my cheeks. I called it the first flooding, and this episode will be etched in my mind for life. Meanwhile, my History teacher continued to rant and rave, hurling sarcasm in the most sophisticated fashion at the class.

"It's about time you studied! I know some of you have lofty aspirations while some of you want to be supermodels, but look, your appearances simply disgust me! You should focus on memorising your facts instead!"

This was indeed a rare occasion-Ms Yee was curt and i had told a lie.

But what could i have said? I had studied for this History test but the results obviously did not reflect the intensity of my revision; neither did it reflect the number of hours i had tirelessly put in. Who in the right mind would admit to being stupid, foolish and slow-witted? So, out of desperation, i had told Ms Yee that i did not study; and sadly, she believed me.

I was dejected. No one on Earth would believe i had put in hard work for the History test, except my family. Thus, it resulted in the death of my passion- studying. I gave up. I realised there was no point even if i continued putting in hard work to study because no matter what, i was still slow-witted.

Mother knew that i was dejected.

"It's okay, you can try harder next time," my mother comforted me. But it did not help at all. The impact of the episode was too great. I was still depressed and demoralised. Then i overheard the news that our first prime minister's wife, Mrs Lee Kuan Yew, had passed away. I had heard about how impressionable she was.

That night, the headline read 'Farewell Mrs Lee.'

When i was reading the papers, i learnt that Mrs Lee took on many different roles in life. In public, she was a traditional Asian wife who metaphorically walked two steps behind her husband. In private, she was a devoted mother, a caring and gentle woman and a quick-witted conversationalist who loved literature, classical music and botany.

All the sufferings i had felt throughout this period of time vanished into thin air when i read the very line, "Indeed, she had a life that had its fair share of pain and uncertainty, which was not evident in public."

Then i understand that this was life. Everyone has to work extremely hard to have achievements. I had learnt a lot just by reading about Mrs Lee Kuan Yew. Her quiet dignity and her self-discipline, her selflessness and her modesty, were unique. Even when she suffered from a stroke in 2003, making her frail with weakened peripheral vision, she still remained bravely active, accompanying Mr Lee Kuan Yew on numerous official functions, and continued to read with the help of a ruler.

Her tenacity did not waver despite her illness, and it was this strength that i decided to emulate. Slow-witted or not, i was going to strive doubly hard to do even better; to achieve better results and rekindle my passion.

And i'm thankful to Mrs Lee for the timely confidence-booster.

Hi.

I know you miss my post.

Have been working and working and working.

My working hours are short but i have absolutely no idea why i can get so tired.

Maybe it's because work starts in the early morning.

FYI, i'm not a morning person.

I'm a night person.

I used to be nocturnal.

At least now, with this work, i'm trained to wake up early.

It has been about a week since i last blogged.

I'm currently working at Starz Restaurant in Hard Rock Hotel under RWS as a waitress.

Yup, that's where i'm working.

Of course i put that picture there for a reason.

Colleagues and managers seem to be quite okay till now.

The cool thing is my colleagues and managers come from many different countries like Singapore, Mongolia, Philippines, Malaysia, China and many many more!

Like so cool.

And working there gives me a higher possibility of meeting celebrities from overseas.

I've met one.

Just to know where i stand.

Hello everyone!
I just came back from the Vietnam Service Learning Trip yesterday.
Went for a total of 7days 6nights.
It's was hell lots of fun.
I love the whole team of NCHS council and the 5 teachers-in-charge.
Yes, all.

Let me elaborate briefly on what we've done there:

DAY 1:
We took the morning flight.
Reached Vietnam.
Went to a Village.
My roommate was Le'schane.
I love her a lot.
Check-in hotel.
Nights.

DAY 2:
Went to a primary school.
Took a super big ferry that can also ferry vehicles like bus.
Interact with the main primary school students.
They were all loveable.
My buddy was a 10 years old boy named Van Phi.
We tried our very best to communicate with them as there's a language barrier.
Then went to the school that we've to help to 'renovate' to take a look.
Went back to city to shop for books for the school.
Went to supermarket.
Back to hotel.
Nights.

DAY 3:
Went to the primary school that we're supposed to 'renovate'.
Everyone 分工合作.
Some scrubbed the old paint off the walls, then sand it to smoothen it, then started painting.
Some started to dig sands, get rid of stones, make cement then do 6 flower beds.
End of work.
Went back to city.
Back to hotel.
Nights.

DAY 4:
Went to Primary School to finish up the work.
Then go to main primary school to interact and play with the kids there.
Everything ended and went back to city.
Back to hotel.
Nights.

DAY 5:
Went to some WildLife thing.
Bought a shirt to support them.
Went to visit Cu Chi Tunnel.
Was really cool even though it was my second time there.
Back to hotel.
Nights.

DAY 6:
Went to Mekong River.
Took boat then sampan.
Then went to some War Museum.
Back to hotel.
Nights.

DAY 7:
Went to the Independent Palace.
Went to some market to do shopping.
Bargain queen is me (:
Bought lots of things at cheap prices.
Went to shopping mall.
Shopping again.
Went to Chocolate Factory.
Off to airport.
Night flight.
Dinner on plane was sooooooo little.
Reached Singapore.
Home sweet home.

Sounds pretty relaxing right?
No way!
Scrubbing the walls and making flower beds under the hot sun was no joke.
Was really really tough but, we had perseverance.
There's loooong ride on bus and i had to retie my hair all over again because my hair would always be messy after sleeping :X
The big ferry we've to take to the school caused sea-sickness and caused us to breathe in carbon monoxide.
Vietnam's weather is even hotter than Singapore's plus we have to stand all those mosquito bites.
The insect repellant had become my deoderant for the past one week.
No joke.
And every night after we went back to hotel, we've loooong debrief.
AND!
My hotel room always have weird things happening.
Super eerie and scary.

I really learnt a lot from this trip.
Really a lot.
All days were pretty enjoyable.
Except on the 6th night.
When i broke down.
Out of guilt.
Realising how bad i was.
How i shouldn't be behaving.
Realising how just one of my smiles could brighten someone's day.
Realising how my little actions could make one suffer all day long.
Perhaps i'm one who think too much.
But i know i'm one who can't bear to see one cry.
See one sitting alone.
See one eating alone.
So i've decided and tried to change my point of view.
Trying in process.
At least it's neutral now.

Today went jogging with Vanessa after eating ONLY half a tub of ice-cream for lunch ):
I decided to eliminate the fats even before they 'pop' out!
Hahahah.
I jogged alone from my house which is located at the ulu side of Punggol all the way to Hougang, Vanessa's house, opposite IMH.
Super tired!
And, i forgot to warm up before jogging T.T
Now, i'm aching all over.
Hahahaha.
Then the both of us jogged from her house to outside NCHS then to Anchorvale CC then to Compass then home!!
Then, i bought fries ):
I cannot resist the temptation!
I even decided not to bring money to stop me from eating but that vanessa brought money T.T

I'm not sad i guess.
But not happy either.
Went to watch Inception with Vanessa laopo today.
Had fun.
Jokes and race like running noisily to the toilet.
Fun.
The show is GREAT.
Then went for badminton with vanessa and met Wayne and Jovi there.
Then home.

In the past when i'm unhappy or whatever, i used to just sing and vent everything in the singing.
But now, i would rather keep quiet.
I don't even bother to open my mouth and sing.
Like what the hell is wrong.
And i'm going to get a tub of ice-cream to shut up my mouth up.
To dissolve the .. unhappiness?
Yes, NOW.
It's like 9:21pm now and the supermarket downstairs is closing soon.
